Cancer treatment is increasingly unaffordable for us

A third of the population is diagnosed with cancer at some point in their lives. Almost all families have suffered. It is a disease that causes a lot of feelings and fears. Politicians, the popularity of search without end, are ruthlessly exploited for votes to capture a field of battle. The promises are easy, but their delivery is fraught with difficulties. And the media feeds the press releases, cancer charities, the biotech companies and the growing number of disputes continues to fill column inches a mixture of exaggerated good news and bad news.

Much of the technology changes so fast that it was a very difficult environment for clinicians at the forefront. And patients are often left confused and afraid of the difference between what is offered to them and what they read and can be found on the Internet.

This week, a report by The Lancet Oncology, the cost of cancer treatment with high-income countries, the author of numerous experts, patient representatives and economists, provides a clear conclusion. Simply, there is no health system can afford to pay large increases in prolonging the lives of cancer patients in a few weeks. We're really at a crossroads.

The fact that the population of the western world is aging with an increasingly unhealthy lifestyle, cancer is dramatically increasing. The cost of new technologies to address this could be disconcerting. The last eight drugs approved this summer, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration will pay an average of almost € 10,000 per patient per month - not counting the cost of their administration, or take care of their side effects. This is a new level of public spending little utility: two and seven months of life, depending on the drug.

I lobbied for a much better patient access to expensive drugs in Britain. Letters to newspapers, MPs government officials and ministers of my colleagues and I have had some influence. So cancer is the Big C for us!

The Big C Review: R.I.P.P.

I can see and enjoy the big C for many reasons: Laura Linney amazing action, the interesting point about cancer, humor. But do not expect me to show the impact of an episode of the season as "Crossing the Line", one struck me on my couch legitimately surprised, totally surprised by death, is not coming. But, well, RIP, Paul. What a twist of tragic events. Can we really say that they thought Cathy survive longer than her husband?

Looking back, the previous episodes to build this very passage. Paul pointed out to pay the bills for the entire season. Sean was a lot more than the father of Adam. Still, I think a lot of television to make my life, and takes a lot of surprise for me at this point. So well done, The Big C. dvd are still shaking his head as I write this.

Poor, poor Cathy. I can not even imagine the guilt and anger, which will be the result of Paul's death. The first because it was his decision to keep the dying hand that led to Lee's family leap from his trip to Italy, which would have meant an intense confrontation of something Paul office of insurance, and anger because, after all! She is dying of cancer and, yes, of course, it is also hard on her beloved, but is it really too much to ask her husband not to snort cocaine?!?

Is safe to assume that Adam and Cathy will be forced to sell their homes now. Seek to live with Sean in the third season, which should give John Benjamin Hickey mine materials further. (Sean wants to be a father, right? Not so, of course). However, the practical consequences of the loss of Paul does not match the emotions.

As is always the case when one of the main characters is killed, some viewers may take issue with this development. They accuse the show of a grapple notes, trying to shock the shock value only. But the Big C dvd set does not need it, for starters. The series is doing very well on Showtime. Also, as I said above, if you return in the season, you'll see the seeds planted in recent weeks. Paul has always been a time, obesity, anger filled individual. We do not focus on his health, because Cathy was much more urgent. But people definitely get heart attacks, especially when they use cocaine. You can not accuse the show of a lack of realism here.

You must also give credit for the performance of the final scene. It was shot well and set the perfect song. Both Cathy and the public realized what had happened at the same time, with the additional tragedy is the unconscious reaction to Adam: Dad is not there yet. When Cathy fell, literally, my jaw opened. It turns out that Paul was not found in the beginning of the episode: what really meet his wife at the finish line.

Desperate Housewives Season Premiere Clips--Trade Peyton Manning

How to fast forward in time, which occurred in the fifth season with Desperate Housewives, the show was completely different, but in a good way. Fifth season was as good as the first seasons. The sixth season was a small difference in the country, but the return of familiar faces at the end seemed a promising lead-through season seven. When the last season just around the corner, and the seventh season arrives on DVD, I challenged the return of some faces from the past and adding new launch Housewives more important, more or less desperate.

Located on the street of Wisteria Lane in the fictional town of Fairview State originally American Eagle series about a group of women and their families, including Susan Mayer (Teri Hatcher), Lynette Scavo (Felicity Huffman), Bree Van de Kamp ( Marcia Cross), Gabrielle Solis (Eva Longoria) and Edie Britt (Nicollette Sheridan). These women are housewives, who seem to have a desperate need to be curious neighbors and get into the affairs of others and hide his own business on the other. The revelation of these truths is deceased narrator and her neighbor Mary Alice Young (Brenda Strong).

As in previous seasons, there is a mysterious new family moves into town to shake things up. However, this new family is not new on Wisteria Lane. This season, Mike (James Denton) and Susan Delfino face financial difficulties and needs to move away from Wisteria Lane. Who hires Paul Young (Mark Moses) and his new wife, Beth (Emily Beigle). The same Paul Young who is the widower of Mary Alice Young. The same Paul Young, who killed a neighbor on the way back in season one, but do not get caught. The same neighbor who came not to be detained because he was falsely accused of murdering a neighbor, sister of the murdered woman. Now Paul was released from prison and no Wisteria Lane are excited about it.

Meanwhile, Lynette Scavo Tom and grow, even outside their families is increasing. Bree goes out of business and decides to reveal a secret that could ruin their friendship forever Gaby. This is not the only secret that Gaby and Carlos have to face this season. He also reveals another secret of her oldest daughter Juanita (Madison de la Garza) that Gaby change forever. Finally, a new neighbor moves into Wisteria Lane. Renee (Vanessa Williams) is an old friend of Lynnette and, of course, also has a secret past who also participate Tom.

This season is mostly the same thing that has been spilled in recent seasons. With the season the last eight, the timing could not be better, it's time for this show to end. There really is not much you can do to keep things interesting. However, while this season has many familiar faces again, the stories feel a little cold. Paul Young was the ultimate villain of the series to date, so your skin back to success a few notches. However, the addition of Vanessa Williams in the cast was not exactly a home run. She tries too hard to be the new Edie. It just does not most of the time. The rest of the cast is still great, as usual, however.

This season of Desperate Housewives is definitely a step up from last season. Paul Young is the greatest criminal in the history of the show, so have him back on display is certainly a good thing. This will certainly increase the level of greatness this season in almost the same level as the first two seasons. Now that you know that season 8 is the last, we can expect the writers to throw us all and see if this show has surprises left. Season 7 was definitely the perfect set-up what will be a great season last.

Sex and the City's leading actress--Sarah Jessica Parker’s ‘Wonderfully Complicated’ Life

Sex and the City's leading actress Sarah Jessica Parker became a household name portraying a famous single girl living a glamorous life in the hit HBO series "Sex and the City", but its reality real life involves a balance between three children, a husband and a career extending from the contractor to actress fashion designer. "It's complicated, and it's basically all I wanted," Parker said today on "Good Morning America" in her life with actor Matthew Broderick, her husband since 1997, their eight year old son James Wilkie and two years of the twins, Marion and Tabitha.

Carrie Bradshaw, the only Manolo Bhlanik obsessed, self-involved famous character played in "Sex and the City" actress of 46 years. It was his last role as Kate Reddy, a mother struggling to balance work and motherhood in her new movie, "I can not do it," that rings true for Parker's own reality. "To play someone like Kate Reddy is in many ways more resonant father to my life experience was very nice," he said. "It seemed to be a base for something and thought that it could connect with women in a completely different way."

The film, based on Allison Pearson in the 2002 best-selling novel of the same name, casts Parker Reddy, a good economic manager are struggling to juggle a career with a stressful chaotic family life with her husband, played by Greg Kinnear and their two children. Parker describes the film, scheduled to open in cinemas across the U.S. on September 16 as a "portrait of modern parenting." It's really a portrait of what it means to be a parent in these particular times, in this economic climate and how we all, if you work in the house or outside the house, in this research very noble effort, this search for balance, "said Parker" GMA. "

Parker own "search for balance," began with the birth of their son, James, eight years ago and has found success on the screen with "Sex and the City" and argued that success in his own production company, your own label design and three different flavors. "It's harder in the most surprising," he says of motherhood. "He intends to be away and is a limited time and can make sense of it and then something happens and you have to leave unexpectedly, saying one thing to go to work, not the intention and, suddenly, is when it breaks. "

"It's amazing the things that are painful or things that are more about the conflict, or measures of guilt that arise," he said. "It's like Jenga. This is a house of cards." Parker continued to balance work and home has become even more "wonderfully complex," as she describes it, two years ago when she and James Broderick gave welcomed twin daughters, Tabitha and Marion, born-back replacement.

"It is a pleasure, they are difficult, are two. And there are two." "He said." It 's like a character says, in my view directly to the novel, "The mothers are the controllers of this amazing, complex traffic conditions." Despite keeping busy with the kids and new roles in the film that more than one point in his life, Parker says he misses sex day 'and' set City.

"I like the stories we tell, but I think I miss the people," said Parker in the series ending in 2006 and was followed by two films. "I miss the privacy of 200 people that I spent 12 years shooting in the streets of New York, the way we did and play someone who was not familiar to me personally, it was so intimate with me in many ways ".

Not content to look back, Parker sees his new role as the next step in his career and life, and a continuation of the bond portfolio, she has trained with the millions of fans who listen to "Sex and the City" every week to live vicariously through Carrie his farm with friends, men and shoes. "I feel a tremendous sense of gratitude for the public who have been with me for a while," said Parker. "So I think I'll tell a different story for women."

Lion King Is Back

I first saw The Lion King, when he worked as an assistant teacher for nearly 18 years. I saw it with the class of students in kindergarten and became so captivated by what I forgot I was working. Music, history and magic that's all in The Lion King.

When I became a mother and daughter were old enough to watch the movie, I was shocked to hear that was not available. Disney films pulled from the shelves, so it can be re-released. Smart business move for sure, but I was talking to bummed. We Disney movie, where they kill the mother! It 'a big one. I wanted the girls to see him. So when I heard that The Lion King would be back on the big screen two special weeks beginning Sept. 16, I was excited.

It will be a 3-D is not my favorite, but whatever, I'm happy. AMC Theatres is showing the classic film. Click here for locations. I have already ordered tickets. If you do not get to see on the big screen, Disney released a Blu-Ray Diamond edition on October 4.

Time To Meet The Guest Stars This Season

Dexter returns next month for a sixth season with a power packed cast. Showtime marketing department has successfully compiled an overview that presents new faces and characters that are in season 6. First, we have his brother Sam (Mos Def), which ends at the table next to Dexter, but is saved by what appears to be legitimate religious rehabilitation. Brother Sam Dexter seems to show how religion can have a positive influence. Dexter is the question "Is the power of faith is all about?"

So we have Travis (Colin Hanks) and Professor Gellar (Edward James Olmos), who seems to think that what they do is good and comes from a great religion. Colin Hanks describes the relationship between Travis, who is the student teacher to teacher Gellar as "very mysterious and dangerous" and I would also like to throw in fantasy. Dexter looks like it will be a lesson on religion from all angles in this season as its own code to kill a certain parameters that may correspond to the criteria and Travis Gellar.

Jamie Batista (Aimee Garcia), who is also the Angel (David Zayas) Harrison sister will be new nanny. Jamie is not involved in the murder case and evokes an aura of positivity and optimism. This is something you want for your son Dexter, who met with the dark side of life at such a young age.

New Detective Mike Anderson (Billy Brown) who came to work in Chicago, is a serious man who will not face any kind of traps that can get in the way of police work. It takes a shine to Dexter that he regards as outside the "funny hat, shirt and colorful jokes spiritual" that make this team a lot, but Dexter was quick to point out what a good detective Debs (Jennifer Carpenter) is. Dexter returns to Showtime Sunday, October 2 with "this kind of thing."

Who Is Pregnant in Gossip Girl?

Leave it to Gossip Girl to drop the bomb, and then trot off the summer break. Remember that a small positive pregnancy test that is flashed before our eyes before the season was 4 up at the bottom? Yeah. What was that all of this?

If we were put on paris could be the child when the season 5 comes, we will double on Blair (Leighton Meester). After all, she and Chuck (Ed Westwick) rekindle their flame glowing in the synagogue. Of course, it was just once. But as we learned in middle school-based sex ed, it takes one time.

Reasonably, who else could it be? Perhaps Lily was bored during his arrest and took a romp with Rufus? Eric went to college ... Maybe they do not want an empty nest.

But then, Dorota and Vania seem to have a sex life, especially wild and crazy, so maybe they are ready to have another baby. Gossip Girl could do that, right? Receive our hopes that something super scandalous going to happen, then it is only Dorota growth of their children. So what do you think the Upper East-page? Who wants a bun in the oven they come Sept. 26?

I think if he performs in shows that would be great. But I am sure he is a great actor is also so obviously what you wanted!" adds.

Do you think Paul McCartney would never consider making an appearance on Gossip Girl? And if he did, he will assume the role of a new character or just look like themselves? Kelly Rutherford is so pro-Bieber, who also took his 5 year old son of Hermes is the Dolce & Gabbana Fashion Night Out event in the Big Apple with her, so he could meet and be photographed Biebs.

Showtime taunts us mercilessly with a Dexter Season 6 Teaser

Showtime has just released a teaser for Dexter Season 6. And when they say “teaser”, they mean it. The show starts filming again this month so I understand there are no sneak-peek goodies they can reveal, but I admit to being a little perplexed by the teaser. It basically highlights a few of the important moments of the show, including The Ice Truck Killer, Miguel Prado, and of course, Trinity. Rudy aka Ice Truck Killer, makes sense to me. This was a pivotal plot on which so much of Dexter’s psychology is based. The Trinity Killer changed Dexter’s entire world when he murdered Rita and left Dexter’s son in the very similar blood bath as the birth of his own Dark Passenger. But, Miguel Prado? Really? Seriously? I don’t get it.

Don’t get me wrong, it was a solid storyline and Jimmy Smits played a fantastic villain. However, I don’t see why they would choose to showcase that particular chapter in Dexter’s life, compared to this last season. Granted, you probably either loved or hated Dexter Season 5, but I believe it played an important role. After all, Lumen is still walking around (aka alive) knowing Dexter’s secret. It was also vital to see how Dexter was going to cope with the loss of his wife and mother of his child.

Even Lila, as despicable as she was, played a more significant role in Dexter’s good vs. evil evolution, than the dearly departed and dismembered D.A. However, I do have faith that Showtime and the Dexter writers know what they are doing. It’s been said that this new season will focus a lot on Dexter’s relationship with his sister, Deb, who almost found out his secret last season. They’ve also revealed that three new characters will join Dexter Season 6, including one that may be a love interest. I tend to think this Dexter Season 6 teaser is just a little bit of hype, a niblet to satisfy our Dexter taste buds until the show returns this fall. We are, however, grateful for the bite!
Its seasons 1-5 have been released on dvd at my site. You can check it out at http://www.izdvd.com/

Tips For Lawn And Garden Weed Control

The idea of trying to keep your lawn and garden weed violations of the explosives with no harmful chemicals could be a noble ideal, but probably conjures up visions of a sore back and aching knees. However, kneeling in the garden and pulling weeds by hand is not the only way to avoid using chemicals to kill unwanted plants. In fact, there are many ways to accomplish this end by working smarter, not harder. The first major change needed to begin to control weeds in your lawn and garden without chemicals is to properly prepare the soil for the areas in question. This would be considered a candidate for the foundation where you will be more and more of your plants. It is best to implement the following ideas before making your plantings so you get your project without chemicals against weeds made an excellent start.

One of the best ways to avoid having weeds growing in your garden or patio is to kill lawn weeds if a process called soil solarization. This is a preventive approach and completely organic eliminate weeds before they have a chance to germinate. However, soil solarization requires a good bit of work, and is only effective if you can start planting the area with a clean slate. Install landscape fabric is another great way that you can significantly reduce the appearance of weeds in your garden and lawn. Their use also eliminates the need for toxic chemical weeding. These fabrics designed for use in landscaping are to this effect and may even be regarded as a means of hi-tech battle weeds without introducing chemicals. Using mulch is another approach very beneficial for the protection of your lawns and gardens in the invasion of weeds. While the working landscape fabric beneath the planting area is established, the mulch is applied to the soil surface around your plants and can stifle a weed trying to break through the surface. The mulch can also be used in conjunction with landscape fabric anti-weed for a strategy to one Two Punch organic weed control.

Another advantage of using mulch is that it also has the ability to provide insulation for your plants. The insulation value is particularly useful in summer and can help keep the underlying soil is both fresh and moist. This will reduce watering requirements and will also protect the root systems of damage caused by the heat break. While some people have chalked up an old wives tale, vinegar can also help you control Weeds DVD without chemicals. This acetic acid in vinegar that delivers a dose of herbicides on weeds. But you'll need a higher number than you probably have in the cupboard and you can look for super-strength vinegar into the weeds and food stores. However, if you want to use vinegar to kill weeds in your organic garden and lawn, then you must apply it carefully and weeds. Vinegar is a "non-selective" herbicide and can damage plants that are exposed, it is not recommended for lawns. But vinegar can be an excellent way to control Weeds Season 1-6 DVD Boxset in your planting beds organic if you pay attention to this subject than on spraying weeds.

Lindsay Sloane Joins Weeds Season 7

If you’ve ever watched TV, you’ve more than likely seen Lindsay Sloane’s face before. She’s one of those go to funny women for a guest role, having appeared in shows like How I Met Your Mother, Mr. Sunshine, Entourage, and even co-starred in Sabrina, the Teenage Witch in the 90s. Now according to TV Line, Weeds is the latest show with their sights set on Sloane. Naturally, as with most actresses who appear on the show, she’ll be playing a love interest for Andy Botwin (Justin Kirk). Sloane — whose deal calls for her to appear in at least six episodes of the show’s upcoming seventh season — will play Maxeen, a quirky conceptual artist in New York who takes a liking to Andy.

Sounds like someone Sloane would play to me. My favorite moments in Weeds are when Andy gets involved with some woman, especially when they’re a little crazy. In this case, hopefully “quirky” means she’s a little on the crazy side. Sloane can play some fairly nutty people. See her in She’s Out of My League to see just how crazy she can get. I’m quite interested in why the Botwin’s will be returning Stateside after spending a good chunk of time in Denmark. I hope Andy hasn’t changed his ways in that time gap. Sloane’s no stranger to the big screen either. You can catch Sloane in the upcoming Jason Sudeikis comedy A Good Old Fashioned Orgy. The seventh season of Weeds starts things off June 27.

Weeds seasons 1-6 have been released on dvd at my site. You can check it out at http://www.izdvd.com/.

House Not Trying to Kill Cuddy in 'House M.D.' Season 7 Finale

House left an impression that he was trying to kill Cuddy in the season 7 finale of "House M.D dvd." after he crashed his car into her living room, but now David Shore has explained that it is not the case. "I'm aware of that reaction [and], though it's not universal, it's something we have to think about. It wasn't intended," the show's creator insisted.

"He was clearly doing something crazy and visceral, but he wasn't trying to kill. If you watch the episode closely enough, [House M.D dvd set] are leaving the room before he drives into that room. He sees that," Shore continued. "Certainly, it was crazy and irresponsible and dangerous, but it wasn't an attempt to murder her."

Laying another argument, he told TVLine at WGA Foundation event, "Second of all, when he leaves, he says [to Wilson], 'You're right. I do feel better.' And he does feel better, which to me means he got what he wanted out of that. He did intend to lash out. He did intend to hurt her, but not physically. He got what he wanted, which was to strike a blow against her world."

Regarding Lisa Edelstein's departure, Shore said he would have crafted a different season ender if he had known her plans. "It probably would have involved more closure on the character," he shared. "I was really disappointed. I am still reeling from it..."

Asked whether Edelstein would return in season 8 for an episode of House M.D dvd boxset or two to properly finish her storyline, Shore said, "We have to plan for her not coming back," because "there's no indication that she would at this point." Scribe Peter Blake, meanwhile, claimed explaining Cuddy's departure will be easier than figuring out what would happen next with Huddy if she was still on the show.

Talking about a new character who will take over Cuddy's job, Shore told Entertainment Weekly, "It depends on how things unfold but there definitely may well be more than one." One thing he knows for sure is that "House M.D Seasons 1-7 dvd boxset is not going to be totally changed or different."

Don't Call My Name, Don't Call My Name, Alejandro

Okay, who already thinks Desperate Housewives ’ season eight is going to be so much better than anything we’ve seen in season seven? I realize that the unsatisfying trajectory of this year’s mystery doesn’t really bode well for the future success of Marc Cherry & Co.’s long-form storytelling, but the fact that all the Desperate Housewives dvd are going to be involved as partners in crime in next year’s caper instantly makes it more compelling than anything this show has given us in years. Finally, DH is getting back to basics, crafting a mystery that utilizes the entire ensemble rather than splitting the cast into a web of barely-connected, tangential story-threads.

Until the instantly infamous “progressive” dinner party late in the finale, the latter, fragmented approach unfortunately defined most of last night’s drama.

Bree wanted to take her relationship with Det. Chuck to the next level. But he proved to be mystifyingly sex averse. Chuck claimed that he wanted to hold off until his divorce was final, lest his cheating wife find legal ammo to stack the settlement in her favor. Lee, however, suggested another possibility. Drawing upon his singular “Desperate Housewives season 7 DVD boxset ” he said he’d seen the cop at aFairviewgay bar, and suggested that Chuck was only using Bree as a beard to enhance his macho cred among the Force. It didn’t help matters when Chuck introduced Bree to his colleagues with “See, I didn’t make her up!”

Lee also suggested that Chuck was in love with his Fairview PD partner, with whom he’d recently severed ties after nine years of serving together. Oh, and they had just severed ties after a camping trip. “Oh, God, it’s me and Tom Mankiewicz all over again,” Lee realized. (Could he be referring to the Tom Mankiewicz who wrote Diamonds Are Forever, easily the most homophobic James Bond movie ever? If he’d only seen its portrayal of Mr. Wynt and Mr. Kidd, he’d have known he was really barking up the wrong tree.)

Bree took Chuck to a gay bar to elicit a reaction. He admitted that he’d only been working undercover there, that his partner had been shtupping his wife, and that he was ready to get to second base. Later, Bree decided to scout his soon-to-be ex-wife’s S&M-inspired boutique, to get a sense of the competition. Not only did Doreen get wind of Bree’s intent to steal Chuck away for herself—thus giving the not-quite-ex a reason to hold out for a better settlement—she ended up with a skull purse.

Watching the film of Logan's Run on DVD

The film Dexter DVD made in 1976. This review is about the cheap Dexter DVD, which offers an excellent documentary on how this film was made. If you see the documentary, you will understand what an undertaking the making of Logan's Run was at the time it was made. This story demonstrates what can happen when people know nothing about history. In Logan and Jessica's world, there is no history; sometimes a false one is believed. Questioning the status quo is considered weird. No one is to question the workings of Carousel; it is an accepted fact that if people try hard enough on Last Day, they will be renewed. There is plenty of food, drink, amusement, sex and drugs. But no one is allowed to grow wise either through learning or through age and experience.

The authorities are concerned that outside there may be a sanctuary for runners. Ultimately, he discovers that his entire existence has been a lie. He thought he was free and happy until he learned that he was really living in a luxurious death camp. The human yearning for freedom is strong. At first, he and Jessica don't have to die; they do not listen, where a number of them will be systematically killed. What happens next is the most important message in the film. In the film, Logan destroys the central computer and the authority of the Domed City with the power of his mind.
The Dexter DVD set shows the U.S. Capitol in a state or ruins, "By the People for the People" are words nearly forgotten because there is no one left to remember what they meant. This film spawned an interesting TV series and a series of comic books.

Some extra juicy bits of information for Season 4

It looks like the cast of True Blood are also getting ready for the Season 4 premiere. Next Tuesday, June 7, HBO is airing a new season of true blood special titled “Digging Up Season 3.” The special will be going back and looking at all the best moments from last season and have the main cast comment on the events and general craziness that took place. Commentary like this is always great for the fans. Getting an actors take on a specific scene can actually be quite illuminating and bring up things you might not have even noticed.

I like hearing how an actor breaks down a character’s thought process and motivations. It’s really neat. This is something you should definitely check out. The wait is hard, but HBO is doing all they can to make it easier on the fans. With any luck, there might be some extra juicy bits of information for Season 4. I wouldn’t get my hopes too high if I were you. Just go into it expecting some good commentary about your favorite show and maybe, just maybe, you’ll be surprised with a quick teaser or sneak peek from the premiere. And if not, just keep telling yourself, “Only a month away.

I can do this.” Since the cast is reliving Season 3, maybe you should too. Pop the true blood seasons 1-3 DVD boxset in and refresh your memory. Do whatever you can, just don’t go crazy and start biting people. That’s too far.“True Blood: Digging Up Season 3″ airs Tuesday, June 7 and the season premieres Sunday, June 26.

What did everyone else think of the first three minutes of True Blood Season 4?

Ready for a treat new season of true blood fans? For those of you that don’t know, HBO released the first three minutes of the Season 4 premiere for members of HBO Go and, naturally, it found its way on to YouTube. We have the video down below and if you just can’t wait for June 26 by all means watch it.

The premiere will pick up exactly where we left off, finding out where Claudine zapped Sookie away to. They both appear in fairy land, which is pretty odd place. It’s filled with other fairies like Sookie and their fairy godmothers. There’s this weird tree in the center that bears glowing, golden fruit. I don’t know what’s up with the tree, but it was giving me a creepy vibe. I guess Sookie felt it too, because she started getting a little freaked out when other people began eating the fruit. But then she forgets all that when she sees her grandfather (played by the always amazing Gary Cole!) He didn’t recognize her at first. The last time he saw Sookie was only two weeks ago for him, but for Sookie it’s been 20 years. End of clip!

So I’ve got to say, I was pretty underwhelmed by those three minutes. The whole golden fruit and fairy godmothers thing seemed a little too much to me, almost cheesy. All the fairy godmother were wearing Greek-like attire which seemed off. Maybe it was just me. What did everyone else think of the first three minutes of True Blood Season 4? And don’t forget to watch “new season of true blood: Digging Up Season 3″ next Tuesday!

Transferring Home Movie Film to DVD

8mm film is a filmstrip that's 8 mm wide. It has two major types: the initial standard 8mm film and double eight mm. Although both 8 mm films will be eight millimeters wide, Super eight features a larger graphic area simply because of its smaller perforations. There are two other types of Super eight: Single eight millimeters and Straight eight. The standard 8 mm film format was created by the Eastman Kodak company throughout the Great Depression and released in the marketplace in 1932. The film spools actually contain a sixteen millimeter film with twice; in its first move through the camera, it is simply exposed along half of its width.
Once the first pass is complete, the camera is opened and the spools are flipped and swapped, and then the very same film will be exposed along its other edge, the edge left unexposed on the very first pass. This film was delivered inside a common box showing twenty-five ft that tends to confound the general public typical length film spools granted shooting around 3 minutes to 4.five minutes at twelve, 15, and 16 along with 18 frames per second. In 1965, Super-8 film premiered and was quickly implemented because of the recreational film-maker. The item showcased a much better quality image, and was simpler to work with mainly as a result of cartridge-loading technique which did not require re-loading - and re-threading - halfway through. Transferring the Home Movie Film to DVD.

Influential American Films on TV

Do you know which films had the biggest impact? Texas satellite TV subscribers can check out these five films which have been the most influential in the American cinema. The No.1 is Vertigo. It is brilliant on many different levels. One might say that Hitchcock brought the thriller genre to the big leagues .

If this film did not exist, maybe Brian De Palma's career would have taken a very different turn. The No.2 is Shadows. John Cassavettes made this independent breakthrough. In Shadows, this film is the centerpiece of the Independent Film Channel collection. No.3 is The Godfather. In many ways, it showed the possibilities that filmmakers adapt a large work to the screen. It had been orchestrated by a master conductor.

For a generation of actors, the work of Brando, Pacino and De Niro was the entire textbook they would need. No.4 is Citizen Kane. Orson Welles use techniques from the theater, fine art and radio. Though it was thwarted by W.R. Hearst, the work became legend immediately and remains one of the top two or three films. The last one is the Mean Streets. The convincing characters makes it could be so many different things, but above all it should be life. Scorsese was just getting started.

Evil is going on

I wasn’t surprised that Sookie saved Eric but I wasn’t expecting her to drag Russell inside. Eric is usually smarter then to just react on his emotions. By not killing Russell he’s put everyone in danger in the future. Jason got more than he bargained for with Crystal. But maybe it will give him something worthwhile to focus on. I have to say that I’m a bit scared that a whole town is going to depend on Jason for their survival. He can barely make the right decision when he’s the only one involved. But what he said to Andy was pretty insightful.
It was nice to see that Tara is really trying to change her life or run from it a bit, but hey whatever true blood takes. She is so out of there! I have a feeling that she won’t be able to find “normal”. Once you know about the weirdness, it tends to follow you. Sam’s character twist seems to be more and more off. I don’t think someone can change so dramatically. The flash back and his reaction to Tommy stealing the money just don’t go with the person we all know. Someone who cares so much about other people wouldn’t be okay with killing.
I was shocked when Bill dumped Eric in the concrete and called in the hit on Pam! I also wasn’t expecting him to then confess it to Sookie. In his defense, he truly does seem to be trying to protect her. He even went so far as to challenge the Queen. The break up between Sookie and Bill was a lot more emotional than in the books. I felt bad for Bill. He may have been sent there by the Queen to do a job, but that was before he got to know Sookie and he truly fell in love with her quickly as soon as he did. Eric left a good impression in the end though. Sookie will remember his kind words and came across having the purest of intentions and feelings. This bodes well for season four!
Sookie fairy disappearing act kind felt anti-climatic. I just expected a bit more impact, but I guess every season can’t end with a murder and screaming I was still hoping they’d get a bit more creative. None of the cliffhangers felt truly shocking. You know Sam didn’t kill Tommy, Bill is somehow going to survive his fight with the Queen, and Sookie went to some fairy land. Still looking forward to season four though! I hope they follow some of the story line in the book, because I need more Eric and Sookie. ;-) Thank you so much for hanging out with us this season! We had a great time and I hope you did too. We love knowing what you think, so please post your comments on season three and keep checking our blog as we’ll post updates on season four and all things True Blood as they become available.

New True Blood season 4 trailer titled "Breaking Up Sucks" has been released

Waiting sucks, but a new season of true blood trailer titled "Breaking Up Sucks" has been released, making the wait seem a little less sucky. Spoiler alert! Possible season 4 plot lines will be discussed below! Click below to see the trailer. HBO is giving viewers a few more hints about what they can expect next season. It seems that there are plenty of shoulders available for Sookie to cry on. The trailer shows that Sookie gets a bit closer with werewolf Alcide, and he doesn't mind offering up a few hugs to Miss Stackhouse. Sexy vampire Eric Northman wants to stake his claim as well and tells Sookie, "You are mine." Is this before or after the amnesia sets in? Viewers will have to wait until the season kicks off on June 26. Do you think Bill, Eric, or Alcide should be Sookie's love interest in true blood seasons 1-3 DVD boxset season 4? Ethical Problems of Lovers

Here I want to discuss the northern exposure between The Brick's owner, Holling, and his teenaged lover, Shelly. Shortly after the series began Shelly began to experience morning sickness and other symptoms of pregnancy. When she informed Holling of her condition, he was clearly shocked, but initially responded appropriately by proposing marriage in full view of the Brick's applauding clientele. Chris agreed to perform a hasty church ceremony to which the entire town was invited. However, when the wedding was supposed to start, Holling was nowhere to be found. Only a day later did he return to The Brick to face Shelly's rage. Yet they agreed to try again, and once more the wedding guests assembled at the church. This time Holling was present but could not bring himself to say "northern exposure." He did promise Shelly to take care of her and their child, but begged her not to force him to marry. Ever accommodating, Shelly agreed to call off the wedding - at least if she might keep the gifts.

Clearly we have here a failure of moral nerve on the part of a loving man - a basically honorable northern exposure dvd. It is hard to conceive of any plausible excuse for Holling's behavior, but in a conversation with Joel, he revealed the basis for his fear. He was looking to the future and was concerned about out-living his wife. The Vincoeur men, it seems, all live past the age of 100, and none of them ever re-marry after their first wives have died. Holling's fear was that if he married, he would spend many long years alone as a widower. He could not bear the idea.

Of coure, this can be an authentic moral dilemma in some situations. If either lover has reason to expect his spouse to die prematurely, he or she should think seriously before tying the knot. Had it been Shelly who was reluctant to say "I do," we would understand her predicament but would consider it grist for an unimaginative soap opera, not a comedy. The absurdity arises from Holling's northern exposure dvd set: he could be Shelly's grandfather. Holling's anxiety is so ridiculous that we laugh and let him off the moral hook. The townspeople gathered at The Brick for the reception and Shelly kept the presents. We would not have laughed if Holling had actually left town permanently, abandoning his responsibilities. The members of the audience were never required to reconsider our notions about a man's obligations to his woman and children. And in fact, it later turned out that Shelly was not really pregnant after all, but had a rare case of "hysterical pregnancy." The writers of this episode made humor and morality cohabit in a warm consensual union.

Another Holling-and-Shelly story also deals with the ethical implications of reproduction. While fishing in a river full of melting ice, Chris found a human body frozen in a floating chunk of glacier. He managed to get it back to Cicely, along with an accompanying journal written in French by one Pierre le Moulin, an aide of Napoleon. The text indicated that the diarist and Napoleon had not been at Waterloo, but rather had come to Alaska at about that time. A skeptical Joel performed some scientific tests on the body's cells and clothing fibers, but could not exclude the possibility that the journal was true. (This is merely one of numerous implausible events that would gradually shake Joel's opinions during his five years in Alaska.) According to Pierre's record, Napoleon had taken up with an enchanting native girl, who was pregnant with his child. Conversations around The Brick turned to genetics. Someone mentioned the Tellakutans, a French-speaking tribe of short-statured Indians nearby, who claimed to be descendants of Bonaparte. Others speculated that fatherhood would have been a happy surprise for Bonaparte, considering his regret over having to northern exposure dvd boxset because of her unfortunate barrenness.

Names in the titles of films

Many of the best films have been named after the movie’s title character. The reason is to allow them to make an immediate connection with the audience. People will already have their own relationships with certain names. This already tells you something about the film and characters. Here are many film titles featuring just one word from a character’s full name, making it a much more personal affair with that character for the viewers. They make them easy to remember, because of their personal nature. They are all immediately recognizable.
Some franchises make their profits by selling the same character again and again, for example, the ‘Harry Potter’ franchise. Each title is simply “Harry Potter and the...” Disney also has an extremely long list of films named after the lead character; makes it easier for the child to connect the character with the story. Other Stories like ‘Cinderella’, ‘Shrek’, ‘Aladdin’ and ’Bambi’ can all be remembered by a child at any time .They all have an image to go with the name, so a child can point the character out on a poster or DVD case and associate the image with the name.
‘Paul’. This is a film about an alien called Paul who has escaped from an American military camp. This gives it to an extraordinary character. The producers of the movie will certainly be hoping that many of Paul’s namesakes will pick up the Paul DVD.

Congratulations to the entire cast and crew of True Blood regarding this wonderful news! Here is the official press release from HBO. HBO has renewed the hit show TRUE BLOOD for a 12-episode fourth season, it was announced today by Michael Lombardo, president, HBO Programming. Created by Alan Ball, the series will begin production of new episodes early next year in Los Angeles, with debut set for summer 2011.

The show follows the romance between waitress Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin), who can hear people’s thoughts, and her boyfriend, 173-year-old vampire Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer), who went missing at the end of season two, and is now the object of a frantic search. Alan Ball (creator of the Emmy®-winning HBO series “Six Feet Under”) created and executive produces the show, which is based on the best-selling Sookie Stackhouse novels by Charlaine Harris.

The 12-episode third season of TRUE BLOOD, which launched June 13, has already inspired critical raves, with Entertainment Weekly calling it “faster, sleeker, more vicious, more fun than it already was,” as well as “summer’s best TV.” USA Today hails the show as “fabulously wild,” while the Washington Post describes it as “electrifying.” Season three credits: TRUE BLOOD was created by Alan Ball; based on the Sookie Stackhouse novels by Charlaine Harris; executive producers, Alan Ball and Gregg Fienberg; co-executive producers, Brian Buckner, Nancy Oliver and Alexander Woo; supervising producer, Raelle Tucker; producer, Mark McNair.
